Notes

The best way to tackle a 5 km is to go for the first 1000 m at a pace that is a little faster than the pace you plan to average for the full distance. Settle in over the course of 1-4 km and let the pace gradually rise to the goal average pace. Then from 4-5 km hold pace or try to kick it into gear over the final 300/250 m.
